The Fortian alumni associations began in 1894 in order to:
1. Build a Strong Community:
Create a place where members can connect, have fun, and support each other.
2. Give Back to Fort Street:
Actively contribute to the success of Fort Street High School through volunteer work, mentorship, or other initiatives.
3. Celebrate Our Legacy:
Honour the rich history and traditions of Fort Street while embracing innovation and progress.

The Fortians Union activities are guided by the management committee, elected annually.
Our 2026 Annual General Meeting was held at the school on Tuesday, 11th November. The following were elected to the 2025/2026 Management Committee, each person’s graduation year is shown in brackets after their name:

Membership
The passing of two long-standing members was noted with sadness.
Twilight at the Fort – Review
Surveys were sent to attendees, the organising team and volunteers, and a full report with recommendations was completed.
The event was well received and will be run again, keeping to its usual timing.
Fort Fest
Plans discussed for a visible presence at the event, including a dedicated spot in the quad.
Mentoring
A further mentoring round was proposed for later in the year.
Membership Brochure
Drafts progressed, with an offer to print received; the executive will settle on the preferred version.
Constitution Review
The latest draft was walked through, with helpful comments received from members.
A special meeting will be scheduled for interested members to determine the final draft.
Annual Dinner
A venue has been confirmed and planning is underway, with speaker and organising details to follow.
Merchandising
A recommendation was made to expand the range of items, with a decision to review options after Fort Fest.
Faber Est Newsletter
The next issue is in preparation, led by the Twilight event report and featuring promotion for upcoming events and a Fortian story.
Mini Reunions
Possible dates were discussed, along with the idea of targeting particular year groups.
Fortians Union Banner
A new banner will be organised.
Fortians Archive
An Archive Day will be scheduled, and the Kirby Interviews project continues with new interviews now online.
Donation
The Union agreed to sponsor a member taking part in a charity fundraiser.
